Training courses

Annual evaluation and development seminars and training events are important tools for supporting youth information and counselling workers’ professional growth and development. Koordinaatti provides training on planning, execution, development and assessment of youth information and counselling services. Training on the use of different tools and methods is also available.

Annual seminars and training provide youth information workers with basic skills and knowledge. Koordinaatti offers municipalities expert help in the use of web-based services, tools and methods as well as training in the basics of web-based work.

Koordinaatti’s diversified role as both expert and developer in the European network of youth information and counselling facilitates the sharing of Finnish best practices, even beyond the Finnish borders. The role also provides Finnish youth information and counselling workers with an excellent possibility to acquire contacts, participate in training and create networks with colleagues from other Member States and member organisations of ERYICA (European Youth Information and Counselling Agency).

National Development Event

Every autumn, Koordinaatti organises a national development event for youth information and counselling services. The location of the event varies from year to year, as the idea is to take the event close to field workers in different parts of the country.

The national development event is a place for youth information and counselling workers to meet up, evaluate and develop youth information and counselling together, and share experiences on topical issues. It is an important networking opportunity for youth information and counselling workers. The event is attended by about one hundred people every year.

YIntro Training Sessions

In its training sessions, Koordinaatti mainly uses the European training packages devised by ERYICA (European Youth Information and Counselling Agency). Training packages have been compiled by ERYICA’s Training Task Force, where Mika Pietilä, Koordinaatti’s Planning Officer, is also a member.

Training sessions can be tailored to national training needs. Every training package also includes a training session for trainers, which must be completed before becoming a trainer. As a member organisation of ERYICA, Koordinaatti monitors the high-quality organisation of the training packages in Finland and acts as the responsible body. Those who have completed training are awarded a certificate by ERYICA.

Tailor-made training events may relate to various themes, such as communication on and marketing of a certain service, project management, or the deployment of the Nutitilastot.fi application.
